Father's Day (2011) ***1/2

Maybe I'm giving a rating as high as this because I saw it with the right audience, with Lloyd Kaufman present, but Father's Day  (2011) was a whole lot of fun. Pretty much everything you want from a Troma film, with even a little bit more style and "substance". Bizarre, nonsensical and hilarious. Check out the sweet poster by  Tom "The Dude Designs" Hodges .

Loved this when I was 10 years younger. Still a lot of fun, but pretty awful really, in a fun way. Gore galore. :)

Amer (2009) ****

I was dying to watch  Amer  (2009) again and finally bought the Blu-ray, thanks to an Amazon gift card from Mum. I love this very cool, very bizarre film. Virtually every single shot is visually interesting and the poster is gorgeous as well. Recommended if you enjoy hypersensitivity, minimal dialogue, extreme close-ups, over-accentuated sound design, Mario Bava , close-ups of eyes, absence of narrative, Gialli , beautiful brunettes, creepy dudes, Alejandro Jodorowsky , "artsy-fartsy" films, fetishistic close-ups of female anatomy in sundresses,  David Lynch .

To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) ****1/2

Winnie The Pooh (2011) ***1/2

Really enjoyed this. I'm glad they didn't try to modernize it (other than the songs, which were mostly great). Simple, with beautiful, hand-drawn animation.

This site is incredible.

Toy Story 3 (2010) **1/2

Overlong and overwrought. Some good moments, but forgettable and schmaltzy.

Better than the first.
