Such a stupid film, but I love it. What ever happened to people melting in movies? "Kill this guy, would you?" "Lady, I'm fucking dead."

If we get those 4 DVDs on Blu-ray soonish, I would be happy. You may notice an empty space - that is intentional; I like to pretend that film didn't happen.

Pretty offbeat and fun. Reminds me of House , but nowhere near as good. Still, I laughed heartily out loud (LHOL?) more than a few times.

"We can maybe have tea some time." "What's the rumpus?" "The high hat." "Drop dead."

"Boy, you sure know how to tell a funny story." "Tighter than a popcorn fart, and that's pretty fucking tight."

After rewatching this, I kind of don't even want to see the new version. How could it possibly combine the lyrical, the epic, the camp, the practical gore, the thunderous score in a way that even comes close to this? "...the desire in your heart. I gave you this!" "Do you not wish to warm yourself by my fire?"

This film is more a series of interestingly filmed images than anything else. It's amazing how much Kubrick honed his craft by his next film , his first masterpiece.

Least favorite Melville film so far that I've seen (only 5 more films of his that I haven't seen).
