Cape Fear (1991) ****
I don't think I ever quite realized the level of Hitchcock homage going on in this film. This has always been one of favorite Scorsese films and favorite films in general - it just never gets stale for me. Some really striking shots, fun/interesting dialogue, atmospheric/impressionistic matte paintings and one of the most uncomfortable scenes (supposedly ad-libbed) with an actress portraying a minor in a mainstream film that I can think of.
Scorsese homage to De Palma?
"Ooh, ooh, I got the all-over fidgets on that one."
"Well, pardon me all over the place!"
