Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) ***1/2

Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) suffers from the lack of Leslie Nielsen, but it's got several of the actors from its classic progenitor, an excellent cast (William Shatner! John Vernon! Rip Torn!), and lots of good (nonstop) jokes. It's certainly no Airplane! (1980) (review) and, sure, a lot of the jokes are recycled (though still really funny), but I've always greatly enjoyed The Sequel. Director/co-writer Ken Finkleman did a bang-up job of replicating the look and feel of the ZAZ original.
