El Mariachi (1992) ***1/2

I have no idea how many times I've seen El Mariachi (1992) (maybe 4?). I forgot how great it is. I love the dream sequences; they remind me of early 70s Romero or Italian horror. Carlos Gallardo is a bit like a Spanish Ricky Nelson. He really carries the film in the acting department. Consuelo Gómez has got nothing on Salma Hayek though.
