The Changeling (1980) ****

The Changeling (1980) is an incredibly creepy gothic ghost story with a committed, grief-stricken lead performance by George C. Scott, an appropriately haunting and mournful score by Rick Wilkins, strong cinematography by John Coquillon, and classy direction by Peter Medak. 

Recommended for fans of The Innocents (1961), The Haunting (1963), The Omen (1976), and The Amityville Horror (1979) (review).
