The Laughing Dead (1989) ***

The Laughing Dead is an appropriate title for this 1989 film—there are dead people in it and you will laugh at it (a lot). A perfect popcorn flick to watch with the right audience—there's terrible acting, cheap sets, awkward situations, a nonsensical storyline, hysterical (and often difficult to distinguish) dialogue, weird editing, zombies, monsters, bad make-up, and, surprisingly, some very effective (and creative) gore. A silly, campy, fun movie that was clearly made with love.

Recommended for fans of Dead Alive (1992) (review), Jack Frost (1997), and Re-Animator (1985)(review).
