Murderball (2005) ***
I'm not a sports fan of any sort, but Murderball (2005), a documentary about quadriplegic rugby players, held my attention throughout. Despite being pretty straightforward in its format, it does a commendable job of presenting its subjects as they are, warts and all, without devolving into a pity party. A number of these disabled jocks still reek of the kind of toxic masculinity which is one of the reasons why I don't like sports (despite appreciating the accomplishments, to a certain degree), but it's a pretty funny, at times inspiring, film.
