Brian De Palma's Phantom Of The Paradise (1974) is a film that I love dearly. Despite any faults, despite any clunkiness, I'm always in awe of all the elements at play in this picture and how they come together. I love Paul Williams' soundtrack, I love the cast, I love the visuals, I love the iconic mask, I love the blending of classic tales with modern sensibilities. Happy 50th Phantom!
