964 Pinocchio (1991) ****

Disgusting, disturbing, abrasive, weird, inexplicable, surreal, and hilarious. 964 Pinocchio (1991) is low budget, non-narrative insanity with a creepy, droning score. Very much my speed but not something I would just would throw on anytime. I can see why this is often compared to Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) (director Shozin Fukui was also an assistant director for the latter film).

As crazy as 964P is, the most amusing aspect to me is all the people staring at the camera because the filmmakers obviously didn't get permission to film in any public spaces (which comprise a significant portion of the running time).
