Cherry 2000 (1987) ***1/2

An entertaining and well-lensed post-apocalyptic road movie with an excellent cast of genre vets, beautiful desert landscapes, fun and interesting production and costume design, and a lively score by Basil Poledouris. Steve De Jarnatt's box office bomb-cum-cult classic Cherry 2000 (1987) is a flawed film, but this scrappy charmer has action, adventure, romance, colorful characters, foxy babes, and a badass car.
