Whore (1991) ***

Whore (1991) is a bizarre film, even for Ken Russell. The fourth wall-breaking monologues and consistently exasperated acting by Theresa Russell will put off most viewers (if they weren't already put off by the subject matter), but the picture is consistently engaging, even if the satire is extremely heavy-handed (Russell was never subtle).
