Messiah Of Evil (1974) ***1/2

An atmospheric walking nightmare, slim on plot but rich in mood, Messiah Of Evil (1974) is a cool little cult horror film. While aspects of its story elements are a bit haphazard and undercooked, its limited budget is quite apparent, and it drags at times due to its slow pace, its arthouse sensibilities and strong stylistic qualities create a surreal, expressive, and enjoyable experience overall.
