Basket Case 2 (1990) *** [Belial Double Feature Pt. 1]
A different beast than its predecessor (review), trading the NYC grime for a vividly colored rural setting, Frank Henenlotter's Basket Case 2 (1990) is a really kooky sequel, filled to the brim with freaky, fleshy prosthetics. Though I prefer the original, BC2 takes the series in a fun direction. The movie ups the budget, ups the comedy, the filmmaking is better, the acting is better, and it holds up well on repeat viewings.
