Happy 15th Birthday, Blog!
Happy 15th birthday to my blog, The Danman Can! Each year on this date I post the number of films I've watched per year since I've been keeping track (21 years of doing so today!). Here they are:
2005 - 338 films
2006 - 368 films
2007 - 274 films
2008 - 269 films
2009 - 234 films
2010 - 189 films
2011 - 237 films
2012 - 254 films
2013 - 352 films
2014 - 350 films
2015 - 337 films
2016 - 270 films
2017 - 265 films
2018 - 207 films
2019 - 254 films
2020 - 284 films
2021 - 334 films
2022 - 401 films
2023 - 383 films
2024 - 406 films
2025 - 352 films
In 2025 I watched the fewest films of the past three years. According to Letterboxd, I reviewed 92 less films (329, down from 421) and watched 84 fewer hours of film (605, down from 689) than in 2024. Note that the number of films I logged above (from my personal records) is different than the number of ‘Films Logged’ on Letterboxd (372). This is owing to the fact that I do not log check-ins for short films, certain documentaries, featurettes, concert films, etc. in my personal records (while I do log most of those on LB).
Bill Plympton was my Most Watched Director in 2025, obviously due to watching a number of his features and shorts via Deaf Crocodile's Blu-ray releases.
Clint Eastwood was my Most Watched Actor in 2025; unsurprising as a handful of films he both starred in (and sometimes directed) were released to 4K UHD last year (several of which I upgraded).
I hope that film lovers will use my blog as a database to search for ratings and reviews, and that they find it useful. It's less frequent these days, but occasionally I post album reviews and other topics as well (such as the Weirdo Wednesday Podcast, which I produce and co-host). In addition to the search at the top of the blog, there are handy labels on the left-hand side to help you find stuff. I appreciate all the views. Take care and I hope 2026 treats you well!

So organized and impressive!
