Chaplin (1992) ***1/2

I'm honestly not sure if I'd seen Richard Attenborough's Chaplin (1992) prior to this viewing. It felt really familiar (it could just be the very classic Hollywood presentation of the film), but if I had seen it before, it was prior to when I started logging films. It's a fairly standard biopic that's a touch too long, with lots of big name actors and no surprises, but it's quite entertaining, handsomely shot (by Ingmar Bergman regular Sven Nykvist), and bolstered by a very good performance by Robert Downey Jr.
