Dark Angel (1990) ***

Dark Angel (aka I Come In Peace) (1990) is a highly entertaining sci-fi buddy cop mashup of The Terminator (1984), Predator (1987) (review), and The Hidden (1987) (review) featuring a goofily-grinning drug-dealing alien villain with lethal CDs for weapons. The plot is a bit messy and the film leans heavily (though satisfactorily) on its genre tropes, but for a B movie Dolph Lundgren is given more opportunity to act than usual. The picture has an insane amount of explosions, a healthy amount of roundhouse kicks, very impressive stunt work, and regular '80s David Cronenberg collaborator Mark Irwin shot it so it looks like a million bucks.
