Run Lola Run (1998) ****

I'm not usually super into movies with gimmicks because many of them don't hold up on repeat viewings/over time. But Tom Tykwer's Run Lola Run (Lola rennt) (1998) holds up really well, 26 years on. I've always loved the film and I continue to. Franka Potente's dedicated performance is perfect (and she's a robobabe), the Underworld-like soundtrack drives the action superbly, the humor is spot on, the sub-90-minute running time is a boon, and the various filmmaking techniques are innovative and fun. A pure cinematic treat.
