The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984) ***1/2
The final Muppet feature film made during Jim Henson's lifetime, The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), Frank Oz's first solo directional outing, is my least favorite of those three made while Henson was alive, which also includes The Muppet Movie (1979) and The Great Muppet Caper (1981). The story is a bit flimsy, outside of "Together Again" the songs aren't terribly memorable, and the final act is its weakest, but it's still very entertaining and occasionally very funny ("peoples is peoples").
