Thanksgiving (2023) ***

Eli Roth clearly intentionally designed Thanksgiving (2023) to tick all the slasher trope boxes—the stock characters, the familiar beats, the inventive and gory kills. Absolutely zero new ground is broken and it sticks to a well-worn formula but it does so very effectively. I had a lot of fun with the film, ridiculously over the top New England accents and all.

Recommended for fans of Scream (1996) (review), My Bloody Valentine (1981) (review), and Halloween (1978) (review).
