The Devil-Doll (1936) ***1/2 [Browning/Barrymore Double Feature Pt. 2]

Tod Browning's The Devil-Doll (1936) is a fun oddball sci-fi horror revenge thriller with impressive (for the time) trick photography and special effects by Leonard SmithLionel Barrymore, spending the bulk of the film in drag, carries the picture well, and Rafaela Ottiano is a highlight as crazed assistant Malita, adding a nice spin to the Igor trope.
