The Blue Dahlia (1946) *** [Ladd/Lake Double Feature Pt. 2]
The Blue Dahlia (1946), based on one of only a handful of screenplays by Raymond Chandler, is a decent—if underwhelming—noir with some nice moments, which unfortunately sidelines its engaging Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake (their third of four pairings) romance for a messy, unenthusiastic finale.
