The Warriors (1979) ****1/2

A theatrical urban odyssey with iconic costumes, delicious cinematography, and indelible moments. A time capsule of gritty late '70s NYC by way of a vaguely dystopian comic book fantasy action thriller, featuring one of the coolest openings and one of the greatest (literal) needle drop end credits sequences ever. Walter Hill’s The Warriors (1979) is good. Real good. The best.
